Philip works as an independent management consultant and is a Clinical Associate with Clinical Panel.
By background he is a Consultant Urological Surgeon and was Medical Director of The Royal West Sussex NHS Trust. His passion is to bring together top clinical leadership and the right information to drive continuous improvement and system redesign.
He has extensive management experience. His key interests include clinical leadership development, pathway and process and whole system redesign, continuous service improvement, data quality, motivation and engagement, medical productivity and service line management.
Philip works in acute Trusts as well as supporting wider system change. Over the last 12 months, he has supported seven urgent and emergency care patient flow improvement programmes within the acute sector, working in London, the South and the Midlands. He has recently supported a major system redesign programme in the south of England and is currently working on the development of the clinical strategy and the future models of care for an acute Trust to inform the design of their new hospital.
He engages with lead clinicians and frontline staff by listening and asking the right questions and supports those staff in influencing change by using evidence and information to drive the need for change.
Philip carries high credibility and respect amongst clinical colleagues and has the ability to make an immediate impact wherever he works.
He was awarded his Diploma in Leadership and Management from the University of Chichester in 2015 and has completed his Green Belt level Lean training.
