Shirani is a global and NHS healthcare expert with six years of management consulting experience in public and private sector environments. This has included both developing and implementing health policies, strategies and service transformation as well as bidding on behalf of private sector clients. She has a specific interest in evidence-based strategic planning and service reconfiguration where her advisory and clinical assurance skills can be apllied to best effect.
 
With a background as a haematologist and strong facilitation and stakeholder engagement skills, Shirani has a track record on projects that involve clinical engagement and leadership development, as well as those that require insight into specialist services, e.g. consolidation of pathology services. Other project types include working with commissioners, providers and councils on integrated care, cost-effective performance improvement and adoption of technology to enable care delivery across the health economy. Her previous Medical Director role means she also has first hand experience of quality and operational improvement and clinical governance.
 
Shirani brings a wealth of experience from working with healthcare leaders and hospital executives in the Middle East, Europe, Canada, US and Australia. She is also well versed in the health markets of the emerging economies. She has worked closely with Healthcare UK and been a member of the Faculty of Medical Leadership and Management’s independent sector panel.
